CLASS OBJECTIVE

To teach and share the gift of sewing, so that each student learns how to use a sewing machine, understand applications of fabric types and threads. How to sew hems, buttons, how to lay out and cut patterns to achieve the goal of a completed garment.

6 WEEK CLASS OUTLINE

• Fabric Types

• Sewing Kit

• Measurements

• Sewing Machine - thread, bobbin, parts, maintenance

• Pattern - reading, layout, cutting, fitting pieces

• Garment

Classes are every Saturday with teacher Valorie Ashley, from 12:30PM to 2PM at the William Hicks Anderson Community Center, located at 501 North Madison St, Wilmington, DE 19801
